About Speaker
Prof. Phan Van Truong is a well-regarded global authority on governance and negotiation, with extensive experience in advising the French Government on International Trade. He is also a prolific author, having penned a number of widely read books on the subject.
Thanks to his self-study process, Prof. Phan Van Truong successfully transitioned from being a bridge engineer to becoming one of the most accomplished economics professors at the University of Economics.
Later in his career, Prof. Phan Van Truong held senior management positions in various industries, including the electrical industry group with 25,000 employees, high-speed railway, urban water supply, and oil and gas in France. He has also been honored as Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, a distinguished National Order Medal in France, for his outstanding contributions to the development of the country. He is one of the few Vietnamese French citizens to receive this prestigious title.
Since retiring, Prof. Phan Van Truong has continued to make significant contributions to Vietnam. From 2005 to 2011, he provided free teaching at the University of Architecture, Ho Chi Minh City and trained over 200 planning masters. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the “Educational Career” medal by the State in early 2010. Additionally, he has provided valuable analysis and proposals on various planning projects in the country, including the high-speed railway, Van Phong Bay, and Hanoi planning. .
Mr. Phan Van Truong has been dedicated to fostering the growth and development of Vietnam since 2017, with the establishment of two notable clubs: the Vietnam Agricultural Startup Club and the Cay Nen Ecosystem. Through these initiatives, he has created thriving and interconnected ecosystems that have made significant contributions to the country’s human, economic, and social development.
